Flirt With Another Man

The problem: Last week during a party, I drank too much (I'm not a drinker and accepted drinks I shouldn't have), and when my husband left to talk to some people, I became overly friendly with a guy I'd only met that day. I touched his face and danced with him in an inappropriate way. My husband was furious, and I'm sickened by my behavior. How could I do something like this? And what can I say to my husband? I've decided, obviously, that I shouldn't drink and have pledged to him and to myself that I won't do that again. I'm so afraid I'll lose the one man I have loved completely
How could you do something like this? It's one of the great rhetorical questions of all time. You can blame the drinks, but another nondrinker who'd had the same amount of alcohol as you did might have acted very differently. If you want to know more clearly how this happened, consider therapy. There are several schools of thought about why we do what we do when we're blotto, but the key here is to forgive yourself for what looks to be a onetime slipup and move on.

As for what to say to your husband, it sounds like you've already sincerely apologized, so just allow time to pass and show him that you're a woman of your word. Here you are, month in and month out, at wedding receptions and neighborhood block parties, not drinking and not flirting. In time, you'll show him that what happened was indeed a fluke.

Why I Love My Wife

I wake early to get to my desk. I first grind the coffee beans, fill the espresso maker, ready the milk, empty the dishwasher while I'm waiting for the milk to heat, the coffee to come up. When she wakes I bring her a cup, usually, but not always, in bed.
When they wake I make breakfast for the kids, pack their lunches. I make sure their schoolwork is finished and packed, their backpacks by the door.
My wife takes them to school, on the way to the office, where she is the boss.
She is a publisher. I am a writer. Left alone, I work through the day, once or twice a week throw in two or three loads of laundry, wash and dry the clothes, linens, towels, put them away, except for her clothes, which I leave on her dresser, not wanting to put things in the wrong place. Amidst all the piles, I try to pay extra attention to her jeans and her fine articles of lingerie, which she prefers attending to herself lest I screw them up.
At 3 o'clock I pick up the kids, take them on some days to the Y for swimming lessons, or walk them leisurely and pleasurably home, stopping on the way at the grocery store to pick up milk (always milk) and anything else we might need for dinner.
She comes home at 6:30. I do the cooking. Usually something simple—roasted chicken with potatoes slathered in paprika, salt, and pepper, left to roast in the chicken's juices in the bottom of the pan; spaghetti and meatballs (she passes on the pasta but loves the meatballs: beef, veal, pork, one egg, bread crumbs, fresh parsley, oregano, basil, salt, and ground pepper); or I call ahead for rice and beans ("My wife will be there in 10 minutes") to the Cuban-Chinese restaurant that we love.
We clean up together.
We've got it down.
She describes herself as a control freak. Sure, she likes things done her way. But then again, I like things done my way. We are lucky enough that her way and my way often coincide. Once I asked her to clarify what she means by "control freak."
"Like when you were finishing your book," she said.
Oh, that.
There was a slight glitch that took place in our lives last year, and if I'm going to be honest the year before that, and the year before that, and a couple of years more than that besides. I was finishing up a novel I had been finishing up, or had been nearing completion of, ever since we've known each other.

dating and love With Friends Benefits

About 60 percent of college students participating in a 2011 Michigan State University study admitted to engaging in at least one FWB arrangement at some point in their lives. You don’t say!
If romcoms are to be believed, FWB situations always end up with the friends living sexily ever after. Now, you’re savvy enough to know that’s super far-fetched—the same Michigan State study found that only 10 percent of FWB arrangements end in real romantic relationships.
But here’s the shocking part: They also found that just 26 percent of FWB actually ended in a wrecked friendship. Here’s a better way to look at it: 74 percent of FWB relationships DON’T destroy the friendship.
“Most people who enter friends with benefits relationships don’t want relationships, but they still have sexual needs,” says study coauthor Timothy Levine, Ph.D., professor of communication at Michigan State University. “And they likely conclude that sleeping with a friend is safer than sleeping with a stranger.” The possibility that one person is secretly pining for the other isn’t really all that likely. In fact, you’re both probably just using each other until someone better comes along.
If that sounds super unsexy, that’s kind of because it is: Levine also found that the passion level in FWB relationships was uncharacteristically low for sexual partners. Basically, FWB’s don’t sleep together because they can’t keep their hands off each other. They sleep together because there isn’t anyone else more appealing at the moment.
Ultimately, you’re bound to be disappointed if y

Having Enough Sex in dating

One of the most common ways in which couples start the cycle of self-doubt is by questioning the health of their sex life. Maybe you go on vacation with another couple and realize that, despite all the time they’ve been together, they go at it all the time.
Never mind that it might be because they just made up from a big fight, or that’s just how they get on vacation, or maybe that’s the only area in which their relationship really works…the truth is, you can never really know what is happening inside anyone else’s bedroom.
Believe me, every couple is messed up and awesome in their own ways. Regardless, if you’re having thoughts that maybe you and your beloved aren’t getting down and dirty as often as you should, there are a few things to think about:
Consider: How much sex were you having?
Every couple is different. This is especially true when talking about sexual habits and frequency. If you judge your relationship against every other one around you, you’re going to drive yourself crazy and possibly sabotage a good thing with someone. The one couple you are allowed to compare you pairing with is yourselves in the past.
Remembering where you were is a great way to judge where you are now. On the subject of sex, looking back at romps-gone-by is a good test of your bedroom health today. Did you used to get frisky like bunnies at any given chance but now it’s a more rare occurrence? You might have a problem to get to the bottom of.
Keep in mind, however, that pretty much all couples see a post-beginning decline in oh-my-god-I’ve-got-to-have-you-right-now-ness. It’s a bummer but it’s an almost universal occurrence. I mean, at some point, you might stop feeling the overwhelming urge to get busy in the coat room at a restaurant. That’s nothing to worry about; you’re just settling into the next phase of your relationship.
That said, the next phase should be as sexually satisfying as the first. If it’s not, you should probably dissect your union and get to the bottom of things.
Consider: Are you both happy?
What’s up with so many people being concerned about the facts and figures of this super primal activity? Sex is not like accounting. It’s not like filing your taxes. You don’t have to necessarily weigh the numbers and dates and keep score. The bottom line is, are you feeling happy and fulfilled? Are you getting down and getting off enough to keep you both feeling great? If the answer for both of you is ‘yes’, then stop your worrying right there. Whether that means you’re doing the horizontal mambo 2 or 10 times a week, it’s all the same.
If the answer for one or both of you is ‘hell no!’, then you need to figure out why. Often, the reason couples hit a sexy slump is because they get too comfortable. When something isn’t new and exciting, we’re less inclined to go for it whenever we can. Getting physical can become (shudder) routine for a lot of people.
But don’t worry! This isn’t a reason to dump your sweetie and move on to something hot and new with someone else. It is my devoted opinion that there is always uncharted sexual territory to cover. Next time you and your love are having sexy times, try a little, “hey, you know what I’ve always wanted to do?” And then go for it.
Mixing things up, even in small ways, will remind both of you that you don’t have it all figured out yet. There’s still a big, sexy frontier out there. So why worry about keeping up with the Bones’ in terms of how much you’re doing it? You’d be much better served by concentrating on making your unique sexual relationship as thrilling and fulfilling as possible.
